Build fundraising your team will actually use.

Most newsrooms don't have a fundraising problem. They have a systems problem. I help mission-driven organizations build revenue systems that hold, follow up that happens and donors who stay.

About

Kimberly Griffin

Nationally recognized revenue strategist and leadership coach.

Kimberly Griffin is a revenue operations and leadership strategist with more than two decades of experience driving sustainable growth across nonprofit media, fundraising and mission-driven organizations. She builds predictable revenue engines and develops the teams that run them.

As Publisher and Co-Founder of the nonprofit newsroom the Mississippi Free Press, Kimberly led the team that built the organization's end-to-end revenue infrastructure, launched an 1,100-plus-member VIP program and grew the donor base to over 3,000 supporters. She ran omnichannel campaigns, cultivated multiple five-figure donors and guided the organization through transformative growth with data-driven systems.

Today she partners with nonprofits, media organizations and social-impact leaders to strengthen their revenue systems, build leadership capacity and create organizations ready for the long term.

My Approach

Strategy rooted in systems, not guesswork

01

Diagnose First

Every engagement starts with a clear look at where you are. Your systems, your team, your data and your gaps. Strategy without diagnosis is guessing.

02

Build for Scale

I design revenue infrastructure that grows with you. Predictable engines, not one-time campaigns. The goal is sustainability, not a spike.

03

Develop Your People

Systems only work when people do. I coach your team and board so the capacity stays in your organization after our work ends.

04

Measure Everything

I help you build the reporting and accountability frameworks that keep your team aligned and your leadership informed.

Case Study

Baltimore Beat: more ways to give, asked more often

A strong membership program was already in place. The growth came from giving readers a second door.

Baltimore Beat built a real membership base. Recurring gifts carry about 80 percent of donation revenue and hundreds of members give every month. That part worked.

The gap sat on the other side of the house. Readers who were not ready to commit to a monthly plan had almost no chance to give once. The ask showed up at year end and went quiet the rest of the year.

We fixed the cadence, not the case for support. The same audience heard from the newsroom on a regular schedule, in more than one channel, with a clear place to give.

  • Put the ask on a schedule. Regular newsletter appeals instead of a single year-end push.
  • Opened a text channel. Built an SMS list from zero to reach readers where they answer.
  • Grew the file first. Every campaign now starts from a bigger, cleaner audience.
  • Protected membership. One-time asks ran alongside the recurring program, not against it.
